Employee Giving

START A WORKPLACE CAMPAIGN TODAY

Each month of 2023, we are searching for new Corporate Partners to host Employee Giving Campaigns

During your Employee Giving campaign, representatives from the United Way and volunteers will visit your employees to encourage them to pledge small monthly donations that add up to a major impact for the non-profits that serve our community.

Each Company chooses different ways to engage their employees:

  • Raffles for United Way Gear (provided by the United Way) or other items such as sports game tickets, preferred parking passes, company t-shirts, or gift cards
  • Donor recognition though company publications and announcements
  • Hosting a special lunch or snack bar for participants
  • Some companies provide an extra vacation day, or day-off to volunteer for "Fair-Share Donors".  Fair-Share Donors pledge one hour of pay per month.

How to Start your Campaign

1.  Contact the United Way of Stanly County

Contact The United Way by emailing the Executive Director, Kelly Misiak, at kmisiak@unitedwaystanly.org, or call (704) 982-6916.

2.  Schedule a Planning Meeting

Our Executive Director will visit your company and meet with you to help plan your campaign

3.  Choose a Campaign Chair or Committee within your Organization

The United Way will work with your Campaign Chair to schedule presentations for your employees and develop a list of employee incentives that you think your employees will enjoy.  We will provide pledge forms, United Way Gear for Raffles, and presentation materials.

4.  Enjoy your Campaign and Learn your Impact

After your presentations or events, The United Way will collect copies of your pledge forms and work alongside your Human Resources team to set-up payroll deduction for employees that have chosen to pledge monthly.

The United Way processes each pledge form by hand to ensure that all Direct Designations to specific non-profit organizations are received by the organizations.  If your company allows, we advertise your business by posting the total amount of funds pledged during the campaign on our website and social media.

5.  Celebrate!

Fair-Share donors receive a special gift from the United Way, and your Company's name and logo will be shared as a Corporate Champion on our website, social media pages, and newspaper print advertisements or articles celebrating the campaign.

This year, you will also have the opportunity to meet the organizations that you benefitted.  Several times throughout 2023, you will receive invitations to events and volunteer days where Donors, Executives, and Non-Profit Leaders can join together to celebrate the impact that your company and employees have made for our community.

SMALL BUSINESSES

Small Businesses are also welcome to host an Employee Giving Campaign and have a big impact on our community.  The United Way has the ability to help with your campaign by creating your own fundraising webpage, so that you can engage your customers in the campaign.  Additionally, our online pledge form is set-up to offer the option of reoccurring monthly donations, so that you can host a campaign with monthly pledges, even if you have only a few employees.
